Lagos LG poll: LASIEC staff fight over largesse

The sharing of largesse accruing to members of staff of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) during the last local government polls is currently brewing trouble.Some of the ad hoc staff engaged by the commission have protested the failure of their superior officers to give them part of the largesse despite protecting LASIEC interest during the election.Last week, eight of the ad hoc staff visited the state Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to express their displeasure to the commissioner, Honourable Ademorin Kuye, but could not see him.According to the aggrieved officials, between N100,000 and N250,000 was given to every polling booth across the state by the Action Congress of Nigeria(ACN) to be shared by LASIEC officials.They told Nigerian Tribune that the committee of ACN chairmanship candidates released some money to them but their senior colleagues in LASIEC refused to release the money in spite of the rigours they passed through during the polls.Kunle Awosiyan, Lagos
