<p><img src="https://static2.businessinsider.com/image/5fface0abde805001980c0f5-1125/GettyImages-1229297602.jpg" border="0" alt="trump tv interview" data-mce-source="CBS via Getty Images" data-mce-caption="President Donald Trump taking part in a 60 MINUTES interview on Sunday Oct. 25, 2020."></p><p></p><bi-shortcode id="summary-shortcode" data-type="summary-shortcode" class="mceNonEditable" contenteditable="false">Summary List Placement</bi-shortcode><p>Following Wednesday's siege at the Capitol, President Donald Trump has been uncharacteristically absent from public view.</p><p>Apart from releasing two videos on Twitter, he has not made a public appearance since a pro-Trump mob ransacked the US Capitol building.</p><p>Instead, according to Forbes, his schedule has involved bunkering down in the White House and attending private meetings.</p><p>The <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/twitter-suspended-president-donald-trumps-account-permanently-2021-1">suspension of his Twitter account</a> also means that the president has been silent on social media.</p><p>This silence could, however, soon be coming to an end. </p><p>Trump is currently in discussion with several of his close advisers about a planned media blitz for the final days of his presidency, according to two Washington sources quoted by the <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/stewing-in-the-white-house-trump-plots-a-boastful-media-tour-and-screams-im-not-going-to-resign'source=politics&via=rss">Daily Beast</a>.</p><p>The president is considering multiple interviews to ensure that Wednesday's events do not solely color his presidential legacy, the news publication reported.</p><p>The Daily Beast said the media offensive would be an attempt to elevate his achievements while in office.</p><p>One particular interview that Trump hopes to secure would focus on the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-announces-historic-deal-between-israel-and-uae-2020-8">various deals</a> secured by him and Jared Kushner in the Middle East and Africa, according to the Daily Beast.</p><p>The president hopes that these historic peace dealswhich have normalized ties between Israel and several previously hostile countriescould remind the public of his "amazing achievements," the publication reported.</p><p>This potential media push comes when many high-profile lawmakers are calling for Trump to lay low and depart office before his term reaches its natural conclusion on January 20, 2021.</p><p>On Friday, Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski became the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/alaska-senator-lisa-murkowski-trump-resignation-capitol-siege-2021-1">first Republican senator</a> to call for Trump's resignation.</p><p>Prior to this, Illinois Rep.
