By Gbade Ogunwale, Abuja and Alao AbiodunGovernors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said on Saturday that President Muhammadu Buhari has failed Nigerians at this time of grave national crises. The governors, who met in Abuja on the security challenge across the country, were particularly worried about what they called the unrestricted incursion of Boko Haram terrorists into newer and inner territories. The National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Wale Oke, also speaking on the state of the nation, said the country is under siege and bleeding. The PDP governors, in a communiqu at the end of their meeting, lamented what they described as the capitulation of the security agencies and the federal government, saying: In the view of the meeting, President Buhari has failed the people at a time of grave national crises. They bemoaned the daily killing of innocent Nigerians, including police and other personnel, and the abduction of hapless Nigerians, including students in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in different parts of the country.Nigeria, according to them, is fast descending into anarchy, with security of lives and property practically non-existent.Read Also:Mbaka attacking Buhari because of failed contract bidPresidencyThis state of anarchy is so widespread that every state in the country is affected. Effective policing and security is no longer guaranteed, especially for ordinary citizens and for day to day affairs in Nigeria, they said.Terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling, rape, arson, mindless murder of citizens and even security agents keep ravaging the land.Criminals have taken complete control of most aspects of our lives, unchecked. Government seems powerless to act. Nigeria has become one giant killing field. The state is helpless and unable to solve the problem. The presence of government is no longer felt. Everyone is on his own. It is as if Nigeria has no government again. The meeting also had in attendance elected national officers of the party, National Assembly members and other stakeholders.Wale Oke: Nigerians are under siegeAlso reviewing the security situation on Saturday, the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Wale Oke, said Nigeria is bleeding and under siege. He blamed the federal government for the situation.Oke, who is the presiding Bishop of The Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Ibadan, spoke at his churchs vigil at the auditorium of the Precious Cornerstone University (PCU), Garden of Victory, in the Oyo State capital. He said: In the 1960s when Nigeria fought the civil war, the eastern part of the nation was the theatre of war.Sadly today, everywhere in Nigeria is theatre of war with much killings and bloodshed going on in the country every day. Some wicked people kidnapped some students and demanded N800m for their release; they killed them. The government could not lift a finger and you are telling me that the President has not failed' Buhari has failed! For the first time, I have found myself praying that God should remove Buhari. They kidnapped students without the government doing anything and you are telling me that the government has not failed'Are you saying we cannot move against an incompetent government whose security apparatus has collapsed'I am not afraid of anybody. I am not! I am the prophet of the Most High, He watches over me. No bullet of the enemy can kill me; I cant die in the hands of a man.Oke accused the Buharis administration of treating killer herdsmen with kid gloves.
