Eight killed in Sagamu as robbers invade banks with explosives

It was a bloody battle yesterday in Sagamu, Ogun State as bandits attacked four commercial banks with explosives and carted away millions of naira, leaving no fewer than eight people dead.The armed robbers, who struck at 11a.m. and operated for over one hour, engaged in a fierce shoot-out with members of the local vigilante group in the town.The incident occurred barely two weeks after a 20-man robbery gang raided five banks at the permanent site of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, killing three persons in the state-owned institution.
