Sean Kingston, Rick Ross, Others For Calabar Festival 2011

AS preparations for this year's edition of Calabar Festival hit top gear, the organisers of the annual celebration, which usually spans 32 days beginning from the last week of November to the first day of January (the new year), has released a list of some of the foreign musical artistes expected to perform during the event.The list includes Sean Kingston and Rick Ross. The Jamaican-American singer, Kingston who is famed for such thriller track as Beautiful Girls would perform on Reggae Night billed for December 16 at the U. J. Esuene Sports Stadium.Also to perform on that night would be King Wadada, Nyore, General Brown Bread, Kandy Sea, Chantaman, Prince and Princess, Betsy Akan and Chris X.While American rapper, William Leonard Roberts II, known as Rick Ross would take to the stage on Calabar Rocks Night scheduled to hold on December 28, alongside the likes of P-Square, Banky W, Wizkid, OJB Jezreel, Stunt and Julius Agwu at the U. J. Esuene Sports Stadium.Another American artiste on the festival's bill is Kool & the Gang. The soul and funk group would perform at the Governor's Masked Fete on December 20, at the Tinapa Water Park. Also to perform on the evening would be Sugar Band, Temitayo George and Bassey Ebong.The Cross River Commissioner for Information, Mr Patrick Ugbe, has assured that the festival this year would be bigger than the previous editions and that the people would have the best of experience while it last.'We expect that the carnival this year would be much, much bigger than last year, because it has been growing year after year. Bigger and bigger. Last year there was virtually no space on the streets. This year we expect it to be bigger, but we are ensuring that everything would be in place. The Calabar Festival this year would be much much bigger than the previous ones we have been having. Artists lined up are more exciting this year.
