Valentine's Day: Fast food joints record high patronage

FAST food restaurants and bars in Abuja made brisk business on Tuesday, as families, friends and their loved marked the Valentine's Day celebration in high spirit.Various branches of prominent fast food restaurants like Mr Biggs, Tantalizer, Dreams Garden located in Wuse II, among others, had hectic time serving their customers.Prominent hotels like Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Nicon Luxury, Transcorp Hilton and Cedi Plaza were not left out of the celebration.A 34-year old architect, Mr Richard Okechukwu, who came to Dreams Garden with his wife and two kids told the Nigerian Tribune that he decided to take some time off duty, to relax with his family.Okechukwu said Valentine's Day was significant in life of a Christian, in memory of St. Valentine who was a martyr of love.He was, however, against the immoral way of celebrating Valentine's Day, especially among the youth, who see it as a day of indulging in all kinds of anti-social behaviours.'Couples can express their love in any way, but for those that are not married, I see Valentine's Day as a day to express platonic love with your family and friends, through exchange of gifts and things like that,' he said.
