Irepodun LG promises support for free health care

The chairperson,Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Honourable Basira Mohammed, has pledged to ensure the success of the free medical health service embarked upon by the wife of the governor, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed's pet project, Life Empowered Anchors Hope (LEAH) Foundation.Speaking at the flag-off of the programme for Kwara South at Ajase-Ipo, Mrs Mohammed said all structures aimed at supporting the success of the project had been put in place."On our part as a responsive and responsible government and one closest to the people at the grass roots, we shall always continue to contribute our own little quotas to the success of the fight against deadly diseases. To this, I want to assure all and sundry that we shall continue to support all state initiatives and programmes that will better the lives of our people", she said.While appreciating the magnanimity of the wife of the governor and all the donor agencies for the efforts made to improve on the lives of the people at the grass roots, the council boss assured that machineries had been put in place to mobilise and enlighten the people on the programme.She also applauded the efforts and foresight of the immediate past governor of the state, Dr. Bukola Saraki, who she said had laid a firm foundation for the socio-economic and political development of the state.She expressed the opimism that both medical and social wellbeing of the people would be improved through the programme.The council boss also praised the continued assistance of the Governor Ahmed-led government in the provision of cheap and affordable health care delivery, free education from primary to secondary school, reduction in KWASU tuition fees, among other things.
