Kwara communities urge govt on social amenities

Three communities in Kwara State have called on Governor Abdulfatai Ahmed to ease their pains by providing them with basic social amenities. According to the leaders from Apekun Akeinde in Okeoyi Local Government and Agbede in Moro Local Government areas of the state, there was the need for the state government to extend its development projects to the areas so that the people could feel the impact of government.Making the call during separate interactions with Community News, Alhaji Ramoni Akangbe, Ibrahimo Kolawole, Tajudeen Ayinde and Yusuf Aremu a.k.a Baba Lagbegbe from Apekun Akeinde in Okeoyi Local Government; Mogaji of Oke-Ose in Okeoyi Local Government, Alhaji Dauda Aliyu a.k.a Aaji Agba and Alhaji Aruna Aweda from Agbede in Moro Local Government area of the state, all pleaded with the state and Federal Government for more government presence and development in their areas.. They all complained of long power outage due to lack of transformers, lack of potable water, which according to them resulted into people drinking untreated water, leading to widespread diseases such as cholera.They said further that lack of financial assistance to farmers and market men and women, lack of good roads and unemployment of youths were also plaguing the communities.The leaders urged the governor to come to their aids in these aspects, adding that steps should be taken to better the lives of the indigenes of the communities.
