Edo FA appoints Neo Media as marketing consultant

Published by Guardian on Fri, 28 Oct 2011

DETERMINED to ensure that it got all the required funds to lift the standard of football in Edo State, the state's football association has appointed Neo Media and Marketing Company as its consultant with the aim of getting sponsors to key in to its activities. The Edo State FA has also called on all the indigenes of the state, both at home and in the Diaspora, to help it reviving football in the state that once had up to three teams in the Premier League, but currently has none in the cadre. The FA Chairman, Abel Ehigie, during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Lagos-based Neo Media and Marketing Limited, assured stakeholders in the state's football that the association was ready to take its football to new heights. He said football development in the state was not that of the FA alone, hence the decision to reach out to a company to market its programmes and activities. The FA boss revealed that lack of funds had over the years frustrated the efforts of previous boards in putting the state on the pedestal of success in various competitions across the country, adding that the new board would correct that in the near future.Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer of Neo Media and Marketing Limited, Ehi Braimah, assured the FA of his company's commitment to making the newly established relationship rewarding.Braimah said he was passionate about sports development thus the decision of his company to agree to work with the Edo State Football Association to rekindle the glowing flame of football in the state. The signing of MoU, which was held at the secretariat of the FA at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, had in attendance the board members of the association and personnel of the marketing company. The term of the collaboration between both parties as contained in the MoU is for four years, subject to renewal.
