Want to see Carnival Calabar' Zooma Travels beckons

Published by Tribune on Wed, 09 Nov 2011

Cross River State is unique when it comes to tourism. It is one state which has boldly made a tourism statement by creating a tourism Eldorado called Tinapa and enhancing a natural tourism asset called Obudu Mountain Ranges. But that is not where the beauty stop. The former state governor, Mr Donald Duke was so sensible and focused by logically instituting a carnival called Calabar Carnival and packaged it well with a month's holiday for the indigenes in the month of December every year. And to cap it all, his successor, Governor Lylel Imoke, did not allow any political difference with the former to lead him into cancelling this worthy carnival.Rather than Gov Imoke doing this, he has been expanding the carnival, making it more robust than the conception of the initiator. This has turned Calabar to a worthy tourist destination in Nigeria.Governor Imoke is doing fine. The import of this is that the carnival creates jobs, mobilises money and shift many Nigerians and foreigners to Calabar. However, some of these tourists always fall in the hands of quack travel agents and tour operators who just swindle them of their hard-earned money. Thus, some professional and registered tour operators are now out to do the job.One of them is Zooma Travels and Tours which is based in Calabar.Zooma is having a package for you.Stay tuned till next week when Zooma will be ready to zoom the package to the public.
