Oyo legion lauds Ajimobi's victory

Published by Tribune on Fri, 18 Nov 2011

The NigerianLegion, OyoState, has rejoiced with the Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, over the victory at the election petition tribunal which dismisses two petitions filled by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Action Alliance (AA) against him.Alhaji Kayode Adigun, Chairman, Nigerian Legion, Oyo State, described the victory as a well-deserved one, saying it was a victory for the people of the state.Alhaji Adigun called on the people of the state to support the present administration in its move to restore the state back to its past glory, urging the citizens to join hands with Governor Ajimobi-led administration to develop the economy of the state.Alhaji Adigun also restated the commitment of the state legion to support the state government in all its development programmes to move the state forward. The legion chairman then called on Governor Ajimobi to continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state. It will be recalled that the governorship election petition tribunal, last week Thursday, dismissed two petitions filled by the PDP and AA against Ajimobi's victory in the governorship election in the state. The PDP challenged the election of Governor Ajimobi on the ground of non-qualification, claiming that Ajimobi carries dual citizens while AA alleged unlawful exclusion from the election and called for outright cancellation of the election that brought Governor Ajimobi to office.
