Uwazuruikes BIM-MASSOB members released in Makurdi, Onitsha

By Nwanosike Onu, AwkaTwo members of Chief Raph Uwazuruikes Biafras Independence movement (BIM) and Movement for Actualusation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) have been released from detention by security operatives in Makurdi and Onitsha respectivelyThe two members, Uchenna Okeke and Ikechukwu Ajah, were said to have been branded as members of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and arrested by the security operatives in different locations .While Okeke was said to have been arrested by the military in Makurdi in May and detained for two months, Ajah, was arrested in Onitsha and detained in Awka for over four monthsA statement on Sunday by Elder Chris Mocha, Personal Assistant to Uwazuruike on Media Matters, said, the group has been celebrating since they were releasedRead Also:MASSOB: Arrest wont halt Biafra agitationHe said the members held a meeting at Ojukwu Memorial library, the Biafra seat of power, New Owerri , where Uwazuruike told them not to be violent in their agitation for BiafraThe BIM-MASSOB members described Uwazuruike as Messiah and the true hero of the Igbo resistant movement.Mocha, said the leadership of BIM-MASSOB had last month,appealed to the military in Makurdi to effect Okekes release since according to the group, the detained member was of good behavior and an innocent member of a peaceful organisation that pursues its objective through a non-violent process.
