Group chides Aramoko kingmakers over comment

A community-based group,Aramoko Elite Vanguard, has chided some of the kingmakers in the town for their role in the controversies surrounding the ascension of the current traditional ruler to the throne.The group, in a statement made available to Community News in Ado Ekiti recently said a statement credited to the Secretary of the Alara-in-Council, Chief Ayo Oni, who is also the Sajowa of Aramoko, one of the kingmakers, that there was no selection problem prior to the announcement of name of Prince Segun Aderemi, as the new Alara of Aramoko, was not true.According to the group in the statement signed by its coordinator, Mr Tope Sanya, in reaction to a report quoting Chief Oni on behalf of the Alara-in-Council, it said the statement credited to Chief Oni was 'misleading and was already in public domain.'It said 'it is not true that all the 13 kingmakers supported Chief Sajowa's statement because not all the 13 kingmakers are alive,' adding that relevant issues relating to the emergence of the Aramoko monarch were already before the court.It claimed that there was tension in the town because of the chieftaincy issue and expressed the belief that the judiciary would do justice on the dispute.
